Celebrate happily ever after

With their venue booked, Pinterest boards overflowing with inspiration and the details for the big day falling into place, many soon-to-be newlyweds look forward to planning their honeymoon.

In a recent study, The Knot surveyed more than 900 respondents and discovered that almost 30% of couples planning their honeymoon opted for a mini-moon, or a shortened trip, in place of or before a longer traditional honeymoon.

Eighty eight percent of those surveyed chose to travel domestically for their mini-moon.

Here are three romantic travel destinations worth considering for a mini-moon or honeymoon.

Sanibel Island, located just west of Fort Myers and the last stop before Captiva Island, allows newlyweds to bond as they explore 15 miles of untouched beaches, 25 miles of bike paths and a selection of charming local businesses, including restaurants, shops and museums.

It’s just the place to slow down and embrace island time while celebrating with your better half.
